LOCAL AUTHOR RELEASES MEMOIR:
"INVOLUNTARY JOY"

Forest City, Iowa – Joy M. Newcom has announced the release of her memoir, "Involuntary Joy: A Story of Unexpected Rebirth." Books will go on sale the week of July 23 and can also be purchased through the book’s web site: www.involuntaryjoy.com.
According to Newcom, “Involuntary Joy” chronicles her first five years as a mother. Her story relates the thoughts and feelings that went unshared when she learned her son was born with multiple birth defects 16 years ago. The book is described as “a candidly honest memoir” that addresses issues related to her personal, professional and spiritual identity struggles.
Newcom, who began JoyMark ! Communications in 1993, works as a public relations consultant and also serves as an adjunct instructor at Waldorf College.
